💡Did you know that nanostructures on the wings of cicadas or dragonflies have an antibacterial effect?
The wing surface, with its millions of tiny spikes, stresses bacteria and eventually leads to their deaths. JOR has transferred such structures into biobased resins in a high-throughput process, namely by R2R UV nanoimprinting. These antibacterial films can make surfaces in high-traffic environments, such as hospitals, doctor’s offices, or public transport, safer and more hygienic.
Through the magnificent collaboration of JOR with UNOVA in the EMERGE project, we made a big step in that direction. This is one of the fantastic examples of the research being developed by the 𝘌𝘔𝘌𝘙𝘎𝘌 Joint Research Activities (JRA1).
With EMERGE, we push the innovation boundaries together.
