Technique: Roll-to-roll Printing, coating, drying and laser patterning
Contact Person (Forschungszentrum Jülich): Hans-Joachim Egelhaaf (h.egelhaaf@fz-juelich.de)
Description: Roll-to-roll line for manufacturing solar modules and other types of printed electronics. It provides multiple stations for printing, coating, drying and laser patterning in a dust and humidity-controlled environment. Front-end (web splicing, winding, slitting) capabilities as well as back-end (packaging, bussing, connector application, laser-cutting) processes are available to make fully operational and packaged prototypes. For pre-printing trials, a fully printing and coating equipped lab with extended spectroscopy methods is available. Inkjet, slot-die as well as meniscus coating can be performed on sheet-to-sheet machines on areas between 1cm2 to 400 cm2 in order to validate results before moving processes on the roll to roll printing machinery.
