EMERGE Project Review Meeting at UNINOVA: Key Insights and Positive Outcomes

On October 10th, 2024, the Emerge Coordinators hosted a project review meeting at UNINOVA regarding the second reporting period. The meeting included the participation of the EMERGE project officer Dr. Anna Santoro from the European Commission and Dr. Vesna Middelkoop, the project reviewer from VITO Institute. Several EMERGE Technical Liaison Offices (TLOs) and other consortium members were also present.

This meeting marked an important milestone in the project, as it provided an opportunity to assess progress and ensure alignment with the project’s goals. The session started with a comprehensive overview of the project’s first 36 months, presented by Prof. Pedro Barquinha from UNINOVA. Following this, each work package (WP) leader shared the key outcomes of their respective activities:

  • Networking activities (WP2-WP4)

  • Transnational access activities (WP5-WP8)

  • Joint research activities (WP9-WP11)

After each presentation, the project officer and reviewer offered valuable feedback on the ongoing activities.

Overall, the impression was highly positive. Both the project officer and reviewer were particularly impressed by the KBest tool and the technical advancements achieved through various activities. Additionally, they provided valuable recommendations for actions to be taken in the coming period to ensure that all project goals are achieved by the end of the project.
