Confocal UV Raman microscope

Transnational Access Activity/Installation
TA4. Characterization of prototypes and demonstrators

Equipment: WITec alpha300 R

Technique: Confocal UV Raman Microscopy

Description:

The UV confocal Raman microscope is an advanced method to acquire chemical and phase compositions, texture, phase transitions, residual stresses and structural information non- destructively with a resolution down to the optical diffraction limit (~ 200 nm). It is possible to analyse the distribution of different phases from the sample surface and inside of transparent samples including 3D information.

Specifications:

  • Solid-state laser 355nm
  • DPSS Laser 532nm
  • He-Ne Laser 633nm
  • Motor driven x-y-z table
  • Pulsed laser for time resolved measurements
  • Temperature range: -196°C up to 600°C
  • Polarisation analysis
  • Type of samples: ceramics, semiconductors, polymers, metal oxides, carbide, carbon, powders, liquids and inks are also possible.
