Equipment: Gas sensing measurement setup and sensor platform
Technique: An automated gas measurement setup that enables characterization of conductometric chemical sensors in well-defined laboratory conditions.
Description:
The electrical resistance of the sensor devices is measured. Synthetic air is used as background gas, several target gases can be added to test the sensor response toward the target gases, and to characterize cross sensitivities.
The humidity of the background gas can be adjusted. Simultaneous characterization of up to 16 sensor devices is feasible. This is a home-made system with precise control of gas concentration, sensor operation temperature, sensor current and sensor voltage.
We offer partners specific Si-based platform chips (2 x 2 cm2) with Ti/Pt electrodes for the deposition of specific materials, where up to 16 different sensor can be tested simultaneously.
Specifications:
- Test gases: CO, CO2, HCmix, Acetone, Toluene, Formaldehyde, NO2, NH3, H2S, H2.
- Concentration range depending on test gas: typically in the range of 10 ppb – 100 ppm
- Sample size: Based on user preferences, to be discussed case to
- Sample holder: Based on user preferences, to be discussed case to case.
