Technique: High Precision, Piezoelectric d33 Testing System
Acquisition year: 2019
Contact person (Joanneum Research): Barbara Stadlober (barbara.stadlober@joanneum.at)

Description:
The system works by clamping the sample, and subjecting it to a low frequency force. Processing of the electrical signals from the sample, and comparison with a built-in reference, enables the system to give a direct reading of d33 – one of the most useful parameters in evaluating the material. This is a material coefficient representing charge per unit force in the direction of polarisation.
Specifications:
Applications & Features:
- Assessment and Quality Control
- Research and Development
- All systems directly measure d33
- PC-Driven or stand-alone operation
- Direct readings for almost any shape and size
Sample Size Maximum dimensions:
- 50 mm in polarisation direction.
- 68 mm perpendicular (i.e. maximum diameter of a symmetrically supported disc is 136 mm)
Maximum sample mass:
- 1 Kg with standard suspension.
Different suspension mechanisms can be provided to special order for more massive samples or very thin or soft samples.
